Dave's Legacy
Dave St. Hill loved his family, baseball, and the communities that shaped him. Although his life ended too soon at age 62, the values he lived by continue to inspire those who knew him.

Dave believed in the power of youth sports to teach lessons that last far beyond the field — teamwork, commitment, accountability, and giving your best to others.

The Dave St. Hill Memorial Foundation created to honor those values by recognizing students who carry them forward through baseball and softball, and who understand that character matters as much as talent.

Brooklyn, Baseball, and The Bonnies
David St. Hill was born in Barbados and raised in Brooklyn, where baseball became both his passion and foundation. A son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and friend, Dave wore many hats — but most often a baseball cap.

Dave's love for the game took shape in the Kensington section of Brooklyn as a member of The Bonnie's Youth Club, one of the country's oldest and most respected youth sports organizations. The Bonnies were about far more than baseball, believing in sports as a vehicle for building character, discipline, academic responsibility, and respect for others. The Bonnies were Dave's springboard to an outstanding baseball career at Long Island University, consideration from MLB scouts, and his "real life" pursuits in finance.

Dave was inducted into The Bonnie Hall of Fame in 1999.
Coach Dave

When Dave, Melanie, and young Natalie came back east from San Diego, they settled South Whitehall Township, PA and Dave immediately found his way back to the field. He began volunteering with the Parkland Youth Center softball and baseball program. With the "big picture" life skills he learned through baseball with The Bonnies, he began to introduce his magic as Coach Dave.

Through many years working with hundreds of young athletes, Coach Dave established himself as a pillar of the community, and a person who seemed to know everyone in the Lehigh Valley. A warm, genuine smile and friendly outlook have a way of doing that.
